Silver Hallmarks and Certification

Our products are made in sterling silver, in compliance with all quality criteria duly certified by INCM - Oporto Assay Office.

INCM provides this guarantee by verifying the legal mark (perming precious metal contained in an alloy) and the existence of the Assay Office mark next to the Manufacturer's responsibility mark or equivalent.

The application of Assay Office marks is only mandatory for silver pieces that weigh more than 2 grams and gold pieces that weigh over 0,5 grams.

Check here the Portuguese Assay Office marks or see the table below for reference.

Under Article 63 of the new law of RJOC, Law no. 98/2015 of August 18, we inform you that the daily quotations for gold, silver, platinum and palladium can be found here.

The official mark Manuel Alcino & Filhos, Lda had some changes over the years until it took its current form in 1986, the same year in which it was registered.

All the products manufactured in our workshop have the Oporto Assay Office mark of and the Manufacturer's responsability mark, that allows to identify the manufacturer that has produced it.

This mark is a unique and exclusive design of each company that contains a letter of the first name or nicknames of the owner (s) or even the name of the firm. The design and the text must be visibly perceptible and must be surrounded by a peripheral contour.

The image below shows the succession of official marks that we have had over time:
